MassKara Festival Security: 1,819 Police Officers Deployed

MassKara Festival Security Measures Announced

BACOLOD CITY – As the much-anticipated 46th MassKara Festival approaches, authorities have confirmed that a total of 1,819 police officers will be deployed to ensure public safety from October 1 to 19. The MassKara Festival security plan aims to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees, officials reported.

According to local sources, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) will lead the security efforts with 900 personnel assigned to various key areas throughout the city. Additionally, 300 officers will come from the Police Regional Office-Western Visayas, supplementing the local force.

Coordinated Efforts Across Agencies

The remaining 619 officers will be drawn from other law enforcement units, community members said. This comprehensive deployment seeks to address crowd control, traffic management, and quick response to any incidents during the festival period.

Col. Joeresty Coronica, BCPO director, emphasized that the MassKara Festival security team is well-prepared to handle the influx of visitors and the heightened activities expected during the celebration. “Our goal is to maintain peace and order so that everyone can enjoy the festivities without worry,” he stated.

Enhanced Safety Protocols and Public Cooperation

Authorities also highlighted the importance of public cooperation, urging festival-goers to follow safety protocols and report any suspicious activities immediately. Measures include regular patrols, checkpoints, and coordination with local government units to ensure smooth operations.

Local leaders noted that the deployment is part of a broader commitment to uphold safety while promoting the cultural vibrancy of the MassKara Festival. The collaborative approach between various police units underscores the seriousness of the security preparations.

Community Preparedness and Festival Highlights

Aside from security, organizers continue to prepare for a series of events that will showcase the unique spirit of Bacolod. The MassKara Festival is renowned for its colorful masks, street dancing, and lively atmosphere, attracting thousands of visitors each year.

Officials encourage everyone to participate responsibly and enjoy the celebration with respect for the community and safety guidelines. The successful deployment of 1,819 police officers reflects the commitment to making this year’s MassKara Festival a memorable and secure event for all.
