Mayor Magalong Commits to Seven-Point Core Agenda
BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Benjamin Magalong has reaffirmed his dedication to advancing the seven-point core agenda in his final term, with a strong emphasis on combating corruption. These focus areas include environment, land use and energy, climate and disaster resilience, urban regeneration, youth empowerment, economic recovery and development, smart city management, and good governance.
“We will continue to pursue our seven-point agenda and we really need to fast-track and expedite our programs to solve our problem of urban decay,” Magalong stated. Urban decay refers to the decline of city areas, often marked by deteriorating buildings, poor infrastructure, and growing social challenges.
Addressing Urban Decay and Fighting Corruption
Mayor Magalong highlighted the urgency of revitalizing urban spaces to improve living conditions and foster sustainable growth. He also reiterated his unwavering commitment to eradicating all forms of corruption within the local government.
Expressing gratitude to voters, he said, “Your trust is my strength, and I draw inspiration from it to continue advocating for good governance and a corrupt-free Baguio whose leaders do not lead by greed but with honor. Let us make Baguio a model of good governance for the entire country.”
Unity and Progress for Baguio City
As the election season ends, Magalong called for unity and cooperation among residents and leaders alike. He urged everyone to set aside past conflicts and work together to advance the city’s development goals.
“Now that politics is over, let’s put aside the bickering and forgive anyone who was hurt during the campaign. Let’s work together, rise together, and advance the progress that the people of Baguio truly want,” he added.
Local experts note that this renewed focus on the seven-point core agenda could significantly enhance Baguio’s resilience and quality of life, provided that the programs are implemented with transparency and efficiency.
