Metro Manila Flood Warning Signals Serious Rainfall
Metro Manila remains under a red warning late Monday evening, signaling expected “serious” flooding in several areas, local sources said. This red warning means residents should prepare for intense rainfall and possible flooding in vulnerable zones.
The Philippine weather bureau forecasted that over 30 millimeters of rain will fall in Metro Manila, Bataan, and parts of Rizal—including Rodriguez, San Mateo, Cainta, Antipolo, and Taytay—within the next three hours. This forecast highlights the urgent need for communities to stay alert and take necessary safety precautions.
Orange and Yellow Rainfall Warnings Across Nearby Provinces
Meanwhile, several provinces are under an orange warning, expecting between 15 and 30 millimeters of rain due to the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat. Affected areas include Cavite, Bulacan, Pampanga, Zambales, Laguna, Batangas, and parts of Rizal such as Tanay, Angono, Baras, Binangonan, Cardona, Jala-Jala, Morong, Pililla, and Teresa.
Additionally, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, and Quezon have been placed under yellow rainfall warnings. Residents in these areas should anticipate lighter rain, ranging from 7.5 to 15 millimeters during the same time frame.
Southwest Monsoon Still Influences Weather Patterns
The southwest monsoon continues to impact large portions of the country, bringing persistent rain and humid conditions. Weather authorities also monitor two low-pressure areas within the Philippine area of responsibility. Both have a medium chance of developing into tropical depressions within the next 24 hours, which could further affect local weather conditions.
Local officials urge communities to stay informed through official channels and prepare for possible flooding and severe weather disruptions.
