Some local government units in Metro Manila have released their suggested routes for the Catholic faithful who will be observing Visita Iglesia this Lenten season.
Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco shared a guide for the public so that they can visit Sta. Cruz Parish, Sto. Niño de Pasion Parish, San Roque de Navotas Parish, Diocesan Shrine and Parish of San Jose de Navotas, San Ildefonso Parish, Nuestra Señora Delos Remedios Quasi Parish, Mahal na Señor ng Bangkulasi, and the San Lorenzo Ruiz & Companion Martyrs.
Visita Iglesia is a Lenten pilgrimage in which Catholics visit seven churches to pray and reflect. Some choose to visit 14 churches, symbolizing the Stations of the Cross.
The Manila Public Information Center also invited Catholics to observe the Holy Week through the Pilgrim of Hope churches in the Archdiocese of Manila.
”Strengthen your faith, reflect on Christ’s sacrifice, and experience the beauty of our sacred heritage this Holy Week,” it said.
The Catholic faithful may visit the Chapel of St. Lazarus in San Lazaro Hospital, the Archdiocesan Shrine of Sto. Niño, the Archdiocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Loreto, the Archdiocesan Shrine of Saint Joseph – San Jose de Trozo Parish, the San Fernando de Dilao Parish, the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Abandoned, the Archdiocesan Shrine of Nuestra Señora de Guia, the San Pablo Apostol Parish, as well as the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and the National Shrine of Saint Jude Thaddeus.
In Malabon City, Visita Iglesia can be done in Sto. Rosario Parish Church, Immaculate Concepcion Parish, Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Church, Holy Trinity Quassi-Parish, San Antonio de Padua Parish, Saints Peter and John Parish, Sacred Heart Parish Church, St. Claire of Assisi Parish, Nuestra Señor de Longos, San Bartolome Parish Church, La Purisima Concepcion Parish, and Exaltation of the Holy Cross Parish.
Quezon City also released a guide for those who will observe Visita Iglesia in the city.
