Metro Pacific Tollways South Launches Drayberks Ready 4 Safety Campaign
Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South) marked Road Safety Month by unveiling its latest road safety advocacy campaign titled “Drayberks: Ready 4 Safety.” This fresh initiative aims to promote responsible driving habits and enhance road safety awareness among all types of drivers.
The ceremonial launch, which gathered over 100 participants from both public and private sectors, took place at the Golden Phoenix Hotel in Pasay City on May 22. The event was a collaborative effort, involving several national agencies such as the Department of Transportation, Toll Regulatory Board, Land Transportation Office, and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, among others.
Collaboration Across Agencies and Communities
Representatives from local government units in Metro Manila and the CALABARZON region also joined the celebration. Cities and municipalities including Taguig, Parañaque, Pasay, Las Piñas, Bacoor, Imus, Kawit, General Trias, Dasmariñas, Silang, Santa Rosa, and Biñan sent delegates to support the campaign.
As a prominent figure in the tollway industry, Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation’s President and CEO highlighted the importance of expressway operators’ role beyond infrastructure development. According to sources familiar with the matter, he stressed that fostering a culture of road safety requires collective action from government bodies, private partners, and the communities they serve.
Drayberks: A Proven Road Safety Initiative
The Drayberks program, first introduced in 2018, has grown into a respected platform promoting road discipline. Now in its sixth year, it has gained recognition as an exemplary road safety initiative. Most notably, it received a Bronze Stevie Award in the Innovation in Communications/Public Relations category during the 2025 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.
The refreshed Ready 4 Safety campaign targets a broad audience—from public utility vehicle drivers and logistics operators to private motorists. It features updated training modules focusing on four essential areas: responsible driving, expressway rules, pre-trip vehicle inspections, and sustaining discipline on the road.
Support from Transport Partners and Advocacy Groups
Major transportation hubs like the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange and One Ayala Terminal were present at the launch. Several advocacy groups and bus companies also participated, including organizations representing modern and traditional jeepney drivers.
The involvement of these groups underscores the wide-reaching commitment to road safety across various transport sectors. Moreover, logistics representatives joined to emphasize the importance of safety in freight and passenger transport alike.
This campaign reflects MPT South’s continuous dedication to protecting all road users by fostering safer driving habits and encouraging cooperation between different stakeholders.
