Midterms elections at Mariano Marcos Memorial School
BATAC CITY, Ilocos Norte — Everything is set for the midterms elections at Mariano Marcos Memorial Elementary School, where President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. will cast his vote on Monday, May 12. The voting center expects a smooth and secure process as preparations have been carefully arranged.
According to poll watchman Julito Cajudoy, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, the president’s mother, will also vote at the same polling place. “All set,” Cajudoy confirmed when asked about the school’s readiness for the election day.
Security and support for voters in midterms elections
To maintain order, police officers will be deployed within the school grounds to ensure the safety and security of everyone participating in the voting process. Moreover, election materials are scheduled to arrive early Monday morning, around 3 a.m., to allow enough time for setup.
The Philippine Red Cross will also establish a station at the school to assist voters with any concerns or emergencies that may arise during the election.
Voter data and turnout in Ilocos Norte
Data shows that Ilocos Norte has 436,087 registered voters for 2025, which is the lowest number among the four provinces in Region I. Despite this, the province recorded the eighth highest voter turnout among provinces in the last 2022 elections.
