MMDA Issues Tickets in Metro Manila Roads Sweep
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) intensified its efforts by issuing tickets to more than 50 vehicles during a recent operation on key roads across Metro Manila. This active move aimed to clear traffic obstructions and improve road safety throughout the metropolis.
In a public statement, the MMDA highlighted that the tickets were handed out along major thoroughfares and Mabuhay lanes as part of the MMDA Special Operations Group-Task Force for Road Clearing. This initiative reflects the agency’s commitment to easing traffic congestion and enforcing discipline among motorists.
Key Areas Targeted in the Metro Manila Roads Sweep
The operation focused on several critical locations, including:
- EDSA Balintawak (northbound lane)
- EDSA Main Avenue (northbound lane)
- Samson Road, Dagat-Dagatan, and C3 Road in Caloocan City
- Letre area in Malabon City
Aside from ticketing, the MMDA also towed five vehicles that were obstructing traffic, transferring them to the agency’s impounding facility in Tumana, Marikina City. Local leaders noted that such measures are necessary to maintain smooth traffic flow and ensure public safety.
Efforts to Enforce Traffic Discipline and Road Clearing
The MMDA continues to ramp up its road clearing initiatives, emphasizing the importance of responsible driving and adherence to traffic rules. These operations are part of a larger campaign to reduce congestion and enhance commuter experience in the capital region.
Sources said that the agency plans to expand these actions, including the installation of more traffic monitoring devices to support enforcement efforts. Motorists are urged to cooperate with authorities to avoid penalties and contribute to safer roads.
