MMDA Rolls Out No Contact Apprehension Policy Alerts
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has introduced a new system to keep motorists informed through text and email notifications under the No Contact Apprehension Policy. This move aims to enhance communication by sending real-time alerts to drivers who commit traffic violations.
With this update, vehicle owners will promptly receive notifications via SMS and email, ensuring they are aware of their violations without delay. The MMDA emphasized the convenience of receiving SMS alerts, which do not require internet access.
How the Notifications Work
According to MMDA officials, messages will come from “MMDA_NCAP” for SMS and from a no-reply email address for emails. To protect motorists from fraud, the alerts will not include any payment links. Authorities also urge the public to remain vigilant against suspicious messages that may contain scam links.
Keeping Records Updated
MMDA encourages all vehicle owners to update their details in the Land Transportation Office’s Land Transportation Management System. Doing so will ensure they receive timely notifications about traffic violations, helping them respond quickly and avoid further penalties.
Local leaders noted that this initiative reflects the MMDA’s commitment to modernizing traffic management and improving road safety. Through the new notification system, the agency hopes to foster greater awareness and compliance among motorists across Metro Manila.
