Transportation Secretary pushes for more signage and wayfinders at Naia
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon has ordered the urgent installation of more signage and wayfinders at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) to enhance the experience of travelers. This move aims to help visitors navigate the airport more easily and access essential services without hassle.
During his recent inspection of Naia, Secretary Dizon observed that the current signage does not sufficiently inform passengers about the free inter-terminal transportation offered within the airport complex. He emphasized that better visibility of these signs would reduce confusion and unnecessary taxi rides.
Clear signs for free shuttle services needed
“If they knew about this, they wouldn’t take a taxi—it runs every 15 minutes, it’s very quick,” Dizon said, referring to the free shuttle service connecting the terminals. He suggested installing a large, clear sign indicating the shuttle’s availability to Terminals 1, 2, and others so travelers can spot it easily.
The lack of clear directions currently causes some travelers to miss out on this convenient and cost-free transport option, leading to delays and added expenses.
Improving overall traveler comfort at Naia
Aside from shuttle signs, Dizon called for more general wayfinding aids throughout Naia. These would guide passengers smoothly from arrival points to their destinations, reducing stress and improving the airport’s overall efficiency.
The Department of Transportation supports this initiative, aligning with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s instructions to enhance safety and service quality at Naia. Local officials noted that these improvements will benefit both domestic and international travelers alike.
With these enhancements, Naia aims to offer a more welcoming and traveler-friendly environment, reflecting the government’s commitment to world-class airport standards.
