Most Visited News Website Leads July Traffic Surge

Most Visited News Website Dominates July Online Traffic

INQUIRER.net claimed the title of the most visited news website in the Philippines for July 2025, attracting over 9.6 million visits, sources said. The platform’s strong performance highlights its growing influence among Filipino online audiences.

Between July 1 and 31, the site recorded 9.642 million visits, topping competitors such as GMA Network with 8.456 million and ABS-CBN with 5.929 million visits. Philstar.com and Rappler followed with 5.645 million and 3.960 million visits, respectively.

Traffic Sources Reveal Audience Habits

A closer look at the traffic reveals that organic search was the largest source, accounting for about 5.208 million visits. Social media platforms contributed 2.204 million visits, while 1.994 million users accessed the website directly. This data shows the critical role of search engines and social channels in driving readers to the site.

Content Coverage Boosts Visitor Numbers

INQUIRER.net’s traffic peaked during major events, particularly its live coverage of the World Boxing Council welterweight championship featuring Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao against American boxer Mario Barrios. This event drew significant attention from boxing fans nationwide.

Additionally, the website saw increased engagement during its comprehensive reporting on Severe Tropical Storm Crising (Wipha), Tropical Storm Dante (Francisco), and Typhoon Emong (Co-may). These natural disasters heightened public interest and demand for timely updates.

Coverage of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fourth State of the Nation Address also contributed to the surge in visits, reflecting the public’s keen interest in national affairs.

Year-to-Date Traffic Trends

From January 1 to July 31, INQUIRER.net logged a total of 61.76 million visits. Although slightly behind GMA Network’s 62.45 million visits, it remained ahead of ABS-CBN’s 60.39 million. Philstar.com and Rappler followed with 39.76 million and 34.31 million visits, respectively.

Since February 2022, INQUIRER.net has leveraged analytics tools from a leading global firm to better understand market trends and tailor its content strategy effectively. This approach has helped maintain its competitive edge in the dynamic digital news landscape.

Local industry observers noted that the continued growth of INQUIRER.net signals a shift toward digital-first news consumption in the Philippines.
