A tragic motorcycle crash in Hacienda Guicay, Barangay Purisima, Manapla, Negros Occidental, took the life of a 25-year-old choreographer and left his female companion critically injured. The accident happened last Friday the 13th when their motorcycle collided with an 18-wheel truck.
The 25-year-old victim, Rolando, a resident of Cadiz City, had recently graduated from Colegio Santa Ana de Victorias Inc. in Victorias City just last month. His companion, 18-year-old Janice from Barangay Santa Teresa, Manapla, was seriously hurt in the collision.
Speed and Reckless Driving Lead to Tragedy
According to local sources, Rolando was driving the motorcycle at high speed and weaving through traffic from Manapla toward Cadiz City. He lost control and crashed into a large truck driven by a 39-year-old man from Dauis, Bohol, en route to Victorias City.
The impact caused the truck to run over the motorcycle, resulting in fatal injuries for Rolando and critical injuries for Janice. Emergency responders rushed them to the hospital, where Rolando was declared dead upon arrival. Janice remains in critical condition.
