Motorcycle Theft Incident Leads to Arrest in Taguig
On May 21, police arrested a 23-year-old suspect in connection with a motorcycle theft case in Taguig. The stolen motorcycle incident unfolded near Serenity Park Cemetery around 1:30 a.m., according to sources familiar with the matter. The victim, a 19-year-old rider, had parked his motorcycle when the theft reportedly took place.
Authorities identified the arrested suspect only as Alfie. Meanwhile, his alleged partner in the crime, identified as Roel, 24, remains at large. Initial investigations reveal that the two suspects used a false key to start the motorcycle’s engine and quickly fled the scene.
Immediate Pursuit and Police Response
The theft was witnessed by Simon, the victim’s 22-year-old brother, who immediately chased after the suspects and alerted nearby authorities. Police officers from the District Mobile Force Battalion of the Southern Police District, who were conducting a patrol in the vicinity, responded promptly.
A hot pursuit ensued, which eventually led to Alfie’s arrest and the recovery of the stolen motorcycle, including its sidecar. The suspect is now in police custody and faces charges under Republic Act 10883, also known as the New Anti-Carnapping Law of the Philippines.

Following the arrest, the case was turned over to the Investigation and Detective Management Section for further processing. Officials continue efforts to locate and apprehend the second suspect, Roel, as the investigation proceeds.
