Massive Drug Busts Across the Philippines
Authorities seized dangerous drugs worth around P78.24 million after arresting 95 high-value suspects in a nationwide anti-illegal drug operation conducted from May 16 to 23. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), working alongside other law enforcement bodies, carried out these efforts to curb the illegal drug trade.
The nationwide anti-illegal drug operation resulted in the apprehension of 62 drug peddlers, six drug den owners, 20 drug den visitors, three drug den employees, three drug possessors, and one drug user. These arrests took place during 60 coordinated anti-drug missions.
Details of the Nationwide Anti-Illegal Drug Operation
Among the 60 operations, 53 were buy-busts, two involved search warrant executions, two focused on marijuana eradication, and three were interdiction efforts aimed at stopping drug transport. Officials explained that these achievements stemmed from intelligence gathered during previous operations.
Most activities took place in regions including Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Central Visayas, Caraga, Cordillera, and the National Capital Region (NCR).
Seized Items and Substances
During the operation period, authorities confiscated nearly 11 kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly called shabu; five milliliters of liquid shabu; 2.30 grams of ecstasy; over 1.5 kilograms of marijuana kush; roughly 134 grams of dried marijuana leaves and bricks; almost 32 grams of marijuana leaves with stalks; 8 kilograms of dried marijuana stalks; and 3,500 marijuana plants.

PDEA’s Director General praised the agency’s regional offices for their unwavering success in line with President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.’s directive to intensify the government’s campaign to reduce drug supply.
“Rest assured that PDEA will show up day after day, with the same energy and consistency, in eradicating the spread of illegal drugs in our society without interruption,” the director affirmed.
These results highlight the government’s commitment to combating illegal drugs through coordinated and persistent efforts across the country.
