Suspect Arrested in Online Sexual Exploitation Case in Bulacan
Authorities have apprehended an individual involved in online sexual exploitation in Marilao, Bulacan, leading to the rescue of five minors. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) confirmed the arrest on Friday, highlighting the ongoing fight against such crimes.
Officials identified the suspect by the alias “Tisay.” Investigations by the NBI-Violence Against Women and Children Division (VAWCD) revealed the suspect’s role in distributing obscene materials of minors to foreign pedophiles, a grave violation of Philippine laws.
Investigation and Operation Details
Upon confirming the suspect’s residence, agents from the NBI–VAWCD secured a court-approved warrant to search, seize, and examine computer data. This legal action paved the way for a coordinated operation involving the Homeland Security Investigation, various NBI units, and partner agencies.
The joint effort culminated in the suspect’s arrest and the confiscation of multiple electronic devices used in the illegal online exploitation activities. Community members noted the significance of the operation in disrupting online child abuse networks.
Rescue and Welfare of the Minors
During the operation, five minors, including the suspect’s nephew, were rescued. These children are now under the care of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office of Marilao, Bulacan, receiving proper support, protection, and assistance to aid their recovery.

Legal Charges and Ongoing Proceedings
The arrested suspect faces charges under several Philippine laws, including Republic Act No. 9208 as amended by R.A. No. 11862 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022), R.A. No. 11930 (Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children), and R.A. No. 7610 (Anti-Child Abuse Law). Officials reported that the suspect was presented for inquest proceedings to address these violations.

NBI chief Jaime Santiago commended the relentless efforts of the NBI-VAWCD. “The dedicated agents of the NBI-VAWCD for their hard work and determination, which culminated in the successful arrest of the subject and the rescue of the minor victims,” Santiago said.
