NBI Seizes Over P30M Illegal Vape Products in Laguna
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has successfully seized more than P30 million worth of illegal vape products in Laguna. This crackdown is part of the NBI’s intensified efforts to curb the unauthorized importation and distribution of vapor products, which have been proliferating in Cavite and Laguna.
This major operation was the result of thorough cybercrime monitoring and surveillance activities. Utilizing advanced Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) and Human Intelligence (HUMINT), agents identified the individuals behind the large-scale illegal vape trade. The NBI also gathered crucial information, including contact details, business operations, and social media accounts linked to the suspects.
Operation Details and Seizure
During the raid conducted on Monday, July 7, authorities confiscated 40,500 pieces of unauthorized vape products from a storage facility located in Rose Village, Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Authorities Continue Vigilance Against Illegal Vape Trade
Local officials noted that this seizure is a significant step toward protecting Filipino youth and the general public from the dangers of unregulated vapor products. The escalating crisis of smoking and vaping among young people remains a serious concern, prompting agencies like the NBI to maintain strict surveillance and enforcement.
