NBI to Build Satellite Office in Lian, Batangas
MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is preparing to establish its first satellite office in Lian, Batangas, local officials confirmed on Wednesday. This new development aims to bring NBI services closer to Batangas residents, enhancing convenience and accessibility.
The announcement came after a productive meeting between NBI Director Jaime Santiago and Lian Mayor Joseph Peji. “Now that confirmation of support has been obtained, the preparation of documents and other necessary processes to implement the project will begin,” the municipal government said in an official statement in Filipino.
Steps Toward Opening the Satellite Office
Local authorities assured residents that every step will be carefully planned and organized to ensure the satellite office opens on schedule. The new facility is expected to simplify processing NBI clearances, which many residents need for job applications, passport processing, and other transactions.

Aside from Lian, NBI Director Santiago revealed plans to open another satellite office in Nasugbu, Batangas, after discussions with Mayor Antonio Barcelon. This expansion reflects the agency’s commitment to decentralize and improve access nationwide.
Moreover, Santiago is also pursuing the establishment of an NBI academy or training center in Alfonso, Cavite. He described this as his “dream project,” highlighting the agency’s dedication to professional development and capacity building.
