NCRPO Seizes High-Grade Marijuana in Marikina Operation
On the night of June 3, operatives from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) successfully seized around ₱450,000 worth of high-grade marijuana during a buy-bust operation in Marikina City. The arrest of a suspected drug peddler marked a significant blow against street-level drug activities.
NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin confirmed that the 30-year-old suspect was on the street-level individual watchlist. Police officers convinced him to sell marijuana and marijuana oil to an undercover buyer, leading to his swift arrest. “The instruction of the Chief PNP, Gen. Nicolas Torre III is clear and unambiguous: Go hard against drug personalities without relent, swiftly arrest them, provide solid evidence to prove their guilt, and ensure that they are convicted and rot in jail,” Aberin emphasized.
Strong Police Action Against Street-Level Drug Trade
Aberin added, “This will be the direction NCRPO will carefully trudge with due regard to the law and the Police Operational Procedures.” The operation aligns with President Marcos’ recent directive for the Philippine National Police (PNP) to intensify efforts against street-level drug pushing after dismantling high-value targets.
During the raid, police seized seven sachets of suspected kush marijuana, 12 vacuum-sealed packs of suspected marijuana oil, and 10 disposable cartridges containing the same. Additionally, they confiscated 10 medium-sized vacuum-sealed packs of kush, one white box, and the ₱1,000 marked buy-bust money.
Evidence Submitted for Forensic Testing
The total weight of the confiscated marijuana was approximately 300 grams, with an estimated value of ₱450,000. Meanwhile, the 22 milliliters of marijuana oil were valued at ₱1,320. “The recovered evidence has been submitted to the Eastern Police District Forensic Unit in Mandaluyong City for laboratory examination,” Aberin reported. The arrested suspect remains in custody at the Marikina City Police Station.
