The ceremony celebrated the athletes’ hard work and achievements in the national competition.

Support for Coaches and Future Preparation
Coaches and trainers who guided the medalists also received cash incentives, acknowledging their vital role in nurturing talent. Governor Lacson expressed gratitude to the athletes for their valuable contributions to Western Visayas’ sporting prestige before their departure from representing the region.
“What a fitting way to depart from the region because next year you will be representing Negros Island Region (NIR),” Lacson remarked, encouraging the athletes to begin preparations for the upcoming Palarong Pambansa under the new regional banner.
The Palarong Pambansa was held from May 24 to 31. Western Visayas, composed of athletes from Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, and Guimaras, finished third overall.
