New Low-Pressure Area Monitored Outside PAR
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is closely observing a new low-pressure area (LPA) forming outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). As of Tuesday morning, this developing weather system was positioned roughly 1,935 kilometers east of Extreme Northern Luzon.
According to local sources, the new low-pressure area currently has a low chance of intensifying into a tropical cyclone. Still, PAGASA remains vigilant and continuously monitors its progress to inform the public of any significant changes.
Weather Impact and Forecasts
Aside from the LPA, PAGASA also reports that the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, is expected to bring widespread rains across many parts of the country on the same day. Residents should prepare for the wet conditions and possible localized flooding in some areas.
Meteorological experts remind the public to stay updated through official channels as the habagat can cause heavy rains and gusty winds, especially in the western sections of the Philippines. Meanwhile, the low-pressure area outside PAR is unlikely to affect local weather immediately but remains under watch.
Outlook for Tropical Cyclones in July
Authorities forecast that the Philippines may experience two to three tropical cyclones this July. The development of the new low-pressure area outside PAR adds to the active weather pattern during this season. Citizens are encouraged to remain alert and heed any advisories from local officials.
PAGASA’s continued monitoring aims to provide timely warnings and reduce the risks posed by tropical weather disturbances. “Mag-ingat tayo lalo na sa mga low-lying areas na madalas bahain tuwing umuulan,” local leaders noted, emphasizing the importance of preparedness.
