New Low Pressure Area Detected Inside PAR
A new low pressure area is currently being monitored inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), local sources said on Sunday night. This fresh weather disturbance, referred to as LPA 07g, has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
At 8 p.m., the LPA 07g was located approximately 1,105 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas. Authorities continue to keep a close watch on its movement and potential impact on the country.
Severe Tropical Storm Crising Nears Northern Luzon
Meanwhile, Severe Tropical Storm Crising, known internationally as Wipha, remains outside the PAR but is moving west-northwest at 25 kilometers per hour. It was last recorded 1,015 kilometers from Extreme Northern Luzon.
Crising carries maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour and gusts reaching up to 150 kilometers per hour. Despite being outside the PAR, it remains a weather system of concern due to its strength and trajectory.
