New Online Platform Calls for Voices Against Drugs and NPA
DAVAO CITY – A fresh online platform is inviting survivors and witnesses of drug abuse and violence linked to the New People’s Army to share their experiences. This initiative aims to build a strong community that raises awareness and promotes national unity in facing these challenges.
The Facebook group titled “Mamamayang Ayaw sa Droga at NPA” offers a digital space where those affected by drug-related harm or the violence of the communist insurgency can find support. This group encourages openness and solidarity among victims, families, and concerned citizens.
Davao City’s first district representative, Paolo “Pulong” Duterte, expressed firm backing for this campaign. He urged victims and their families to speak out and reveal how these issues have devastated their communities. “It is time to break the silence. It is time to expose the cruelty and deception of criminal and rebel groups that continue to commit crimes and destroy our society,” Rep. Duterte said in a Filipino dialect.
Uniting Against Drugs and NPA for the Nation’s Future
Rep. Duterte emphasized that the fight against illegal drugs and the NPA must be seen as a united front for protecting the safety and future of Filipino children and the entire country. He reminded everyone that this struggle goes beyond politics or military operations.
He assured those who come forward that their voices will be heard and supported. The representative promised protection and decisive action, stressing a collective effort to free the Philippines from drugs, fear, and terrorism.
The lawmaker encouraged social media users to engage with the Facebook group by sharing their stories. “Your stories matter. You are the true voice of the people. We must not allow terrorists to twist the truth,” he said.
Safe Space for Sharing Stories and Building Strength
The Facebook platform serves as a safe and inclusive environment where individuals can share stories of survival, grief, and resilience without fear of judgment. Its objective is to create a unified voice that influences public policy, strengthens law enforcement, and changes how the public perceives ongoing threats from drug syndicates and armed insurgents.
Organizers hope this initiative will inspire healing and encourage communities to act together against the twin threats of illegal drugs and communist armed conflict. They invite anyone who has experienced these hardships—whether as victims, relatives, or community members—to participate and make their voices count.
This platform represents a crucial step in empowering Filipinos to confront and overcome the challenges posed by drugs and insurgency, fostering hope and solidarity across the nation.
