No Low-Pressure Areas Inside Philippine Area Thursday
MANILA — The Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) remains free of low-pressure areas (LPAs) this Thursday afternoon, local weather authorities confirmed. The absence of these systems means calmer weather conditions for most parts of the country.
The latest development followed the exit of LPA 07c from the PAR earlier today. According to weather bulletins, LPA 07c was last tracked 830 kilometers northeast of extreme Northern Luzon by 3 p.m.
Tracking Low-Pressure Areas Outside the PAR
Weather specialist Benison Estareja explained that although LPA 07c has left the PAR, it still has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression or a weak tropical cyclone. Meanwhile, another LPA, identified as 07d, was detected 2,105 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon.
“This has a high chance of becoming a tropical depression within 24 hours. However, if it strengthens into a tropical cyclone, it will not enter the Philippine area of responsibility,” Estareja said.
Additionally, the remnants of Tropical Depression Bising, internationally named Danas, were observed 570 kilometers northwest of Itbayat, Batanes. Authorities noted that these remnants are unlikely to redevelop into a tropical cyclone.
Impact on the Country
Despite the presence of these three low-pressure areas inside and outside the PAR, experts assured that they have no direct effect on the Philippines. Estareja added, “If it does have an effect, this is what we call the pulling of the southwest monsoon to some parts of the western sides of the country.”
Residents and local officials are encouraged to stay updated through official announcements and be prepared for possible monsoon-related weather changes.
