June 2025 Special Licensure Exam Results Released
In a recent announcement, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) revealed that no candidate passed the June 2025 Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) for medical technologists. This examination was held in key overseas locations, including the Middle East and Singapore.
The PRC conducted the SPLE for medical technologists from June 6 to June 7. This edition of the special licensure exam attracted many examinees seeking to secure their professional licenses abroad, but unfortunately, none met the passing requirements.
Board of Medical Technology and Exam Oversight
The Board of Medical Technology, responsible for overseeing the licensure exams, is chaired by Dr. Marilyn Cabal-Barza. She is supported by members Dr. Leila Lany Florento and Hon. Maria Lourdes Gatbonton. Sources said the board continues to review exam procedures to uphold the standards of the profession despite the challenging results.
Context on Special Licensure Exams
The PRC has occasionally conducted special licensure exams for various professions abroad. Recently, no examinee passed the June 2025 plant mechanics special licensure exam as well, indicating the rigorous standards applied. Local leaders noted that these exams ensure only highly qualified professionals represent the country internationally.
While the outcomes are disappointing, they reflect the commission’s commitment to maintaining professional excellence. The PRC urges all future examinees to prepare thoroughly and meet the high standards expected of licensed medical technologists worldwide.
