Temporary Lane Closures on North Luzon Expressway

Officials reported upcoming temporary lane closures along various sections of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) from September 1 to 5. The lane closures will affect key areas in Pampanga, Valenzuela, and Balagtas in Bulacan. These measures aim to accommodate essential infrastructure projects while ensuring safety and minimizing traffic disruption.

The North Luzon Expressway lane closures will include 100-meter sections in several locations as part of a gantry installation initiative. Authorities advised motorists to plan alternative routes or expect delays during the scheduled periods.

Lane Closures in Valenzuela

In Mapulang Lupa, Valenzuela, lane closures will alternate between northbound and southbound Lane 1. The schedule is as follows:

  • Northbound Lane 1: September 1, 10 p.m. to September 2, 5 a.m.
  • Southbound Lane 1: September 2, 10 p.m. to September 3, 5 a.m.
  • Northbound Lane 1: September 3, 10 p.m. to September 4, 5 a.m.
  • Southbound Lane 1: September 4, 10 p.m. to September 5, 1 a.m.

Additionally, the Torres Bugallon Bridge area in Valenzuela will experience a northbound Lane 1 closure on September 4 from 10 p.m. to September 5, 5 a.m.

Balagtas and Pampanga Affected

Before the NLEx Tabang exit ramp to Pampanga, the northbound Lane 1 in the Balagtas area will be closed from September 1, 10 p.m. to September 2, 5 a.m. Community members noted these closures are crucial for ongoing development projects in the region.

Meanwhile, a more extensive 500-meter lane closure will take place in the NLEx Sto. Tomas area, Pampanga. This is to accommodate the Department of Public Works and Highways’ construction of the Sto. Tomas Interchange.

Sto. Tomas Lane Closures Detailed

Both northbound and southbound leftmost lanes (Lane 1) will be closed according to the following schedule:

  • September 1, 10 p.m. to September 2, 4 a.m.
  • September 2, 10 p.m. to September 3, 4 a.m.
  • September 3, 10 p.m. to September 4, 4 a.m.
  • September 4, 10 p.m. to September 5, 4 a.m.

Officials emphasized that these closures are temporary but necessary to ensure the smooth progress of infrastructure improvements that will benefit motorists in the long term.

Motorist Advisory and Safety Tips

Drivers are urged to exercise caution, reduce speed, and follow traffic signs during the lane closures. Local leaders noted that adhering to traffic rules will help prevent accidents and ease congestion.
