Record Number of Examinees Attend 2025 Bar Examinations
MANILA, Philippines — Over 11,000 aspiring lawyers took the first day of the 2025 Bar Examinations, officials reported on Sunday. The 2025 Bar Examinations have drawn a significant turnout, reflecting the high demand for legal careers across the country.
Supreme Court Associate Justice Amy Lazaro-Javier, chairperson of this year’s exams, confirmed that 11,437 examinees appeared on the opening day. This figure represents 86.7 percent of the 13,193 examinees admitted to take the tests this year, underscoring the strong participation rate.
Notable Demographics Among 2025 Bar Examinations Candidates
Among the 2025 Bar Examinations candidates, female examinees outnumbered their male counterparts. Lazaro-Javier noted that 6,673 women registered compared to 4,764 men. This gender distribution highlights the growing presence of women in the legal profession.
The examinees consist of 5,215 first-time takers, 4,239 repeaters, and 1,984 refresher candidates, sources said. The diversity of experience reflects the varied paths individuals take toward passing the Bar.
Special Groups Represented on Bar Exam’s Opening Day
The first day of the 2025 Bar Examinations also welcomed several special groups. Among them were 206 senior citizens, 241 persons with disabilities, 41 pregnant women, and 139 examinees with medical conditions, local leaders noted. Their participation underscores the inclusivity of this year’s exams.
