P1.4 Million Shabu Seized from High-Value Suspects in Bohol
Authorities seized more than P1.4 million worth of suspected shabu during a pre-dawn anti-drug operation on Cabilao Island in Loon town, Bohol. The arrest involved three high-value suspects from Barangay Talisay, confirming the ongoing efforts against illegal drugs in the province.
The buy-bust operation took place at approximately 2:46 a.m. in Purok 2 of Barangay Talisay. The suspects included a 45-year-old married contractor, a 42-year-old single fisherman, and a 32-year-old unemployed woman—all locals in the area. Their arrest marks another significant milestone in the campaign against drug trafficking.
Seized Items and Charges Filed
Police recovered about 210 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), valued at P1.42 million based on the standard drug price. Alongside the illegal drugs, authorities confiscated a mobile phone, buy-bust money, and a sling bag, which were instrumental in the operation.
The raid was led by Police Captain Thomas Zen Cheung, the chief of the Loon Municipal Police Station, in close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. The suspects remain in police custody and face charges under Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
