Kidnapping Incident in San Juan Leads to Major Recovery
On May 29, authorities recovered around P1 million worth of diamonds and cash after apprehending three suspects involved in the kidnapping and robbery of an Indian businessman at a mall in Barangay Greenhills, San Juan City. The four-word keyphrase “diamonds and cash seized” highlights the central focus of the investigation.
According to reports from local sources, the victim was dining outside Greenhills Shopping Center at roughly 8:40 p.m. when the suspects suddenly approached and forcibly dragged him into their vehicle. They took all his belongings during the ordeal.
Police Operation and Arrest of Suspects
The suspects, identified as “Jamal,” “Mohammad,” and “Machol,” were later arrested inside their residence in Barangay 807, San Andres Bukid, Sta. Ana, Manila. After violently beating the victim and threatening his life, they abandoned him along a road in Barangay Sta. Lucia. Fortunately, concerned citizens found the victim and brought him to the police station for aid.
A special investigation team quickly formed to locate and capture the perpetrators. Their efforts paid off when they identified the suspects’ location and executed a police operation leading to the arrests.
Recovered Items and Charges Filed
During the operation, the police recovered 30 small plastic sachets containing diamonds and diamond certificates, cash totaling P130,000, three mobile phones, two wristwatches, several pieces of jewelry, and four wallets. They also tracked down the suspects’ getaway vehicle, which was found later in Sta. Maria, Bulacan.
The suspects now face robbery charges filed before the San Juan Prosecutor’s Office.
