Eight Suspected Traffickers Arrested in Calabarzon
LUCENA CITY — Police in Calabarzon seized over P2.1 million worth of shabu in a series of buy-bust operations, arresting eight suspected drug traffickers in Cavite, Rizal, and Quezon provinces over the weekend. The Calabarzon Police Regional Office (PRO-4A) confirmed the successful raids targeting illegal drug activities.
In Dasmariñas City, Cavite, officers arrested a suspect known as alias “Jonald” early Saturday morning. He was caught selling 70 grams of shabu, valued at around P476,000, to an undercover agent in Barangay Datu Esmael. Authorities classified Jonald as a high-value individual (HVI) linked to major drug syndicates.
Major Buy-Bust Operations Yield Large Drug Hauls
Meanwhile, in Barangay San Andres, Cainta, Rizal, two suspects named “Zorahilda” and “Carlo” were arrested during a sting operation around 2 a.m. They yielded 100 grams of suspected shabu, estimated at P680,000. Zorahilda is labeled as an HVI, while Carlo is considered a street-level pusher.
Further in Rizal, agents apprehended “Anthony” and “Arbinal,” both HVIs, in Barangay Burgos, Rodriguez town. The buy-bust at 3:10 p.m. on Saturday recovered 65 grams of shabu worth P435,200.
Quezon Province Drug Busts Target Street Pushers and HVIs
In Quezon province, authorities continued their crackdown. Early Sunday, around 12:30 a.m., operatives arrested “Rodel” in Barangay Ayusan 1, Tiaong, with 36.9 grams of shabu worth about P250,920. Rodel is identified as a street-level pusher.
Also in Quezon, “Noy,” another HVI, was caught selling 25.3 grams of shabu valued at P172,040 in Barangay Mateuna, Tayabas City. Later that night, police arrested “Carlito,” a street pusher, in Barangay Malabanban Norte, Candelaria, with 22.06 grams worth P150,008.
Authorities Remain Vigilant Against Illegal Drugs
All eight suspects are now in custody, facing charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Local officials emphasized their commitment to intensify anti-drug operations in Calabarzon to dismantle syndicates and curb the drug trade.
