Major Drug Busts in Rizal Seize P400,000 Worth of Shabu
In a significant crackdown on illegal drugs, authorities in Rizal province seized over P400,000 worth of shabu and two unlicensed firearms during separate operations on July 15 and 16. The arrests involved six suspects linked to drug activities in the area.
Police Regional Office 4A reported that the Rodriguez town Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Isidro around 10:45 p.m. This led to the arrest of suspects known as “Mama,” “Normina,” and “John Marc.”
Confiscation Details and Suspects’ Roles
Officials recovered six heat-sealed sachets containing 56 grams of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, valued at P380,800. During a frisk, police found John Marc carrying an undocumented .45-caliber pistol loaded with three rounds.
Alongside these items, a motorcycle suspected to be used in illegal drug transactions was also seized.
Authorities identified Mama and Normina as “high-value individuals” within the drug trade, a classification that includes key players such as financiers, traffickers, and syndicate members. John Marc was described as a street-level pusher and drug user.
Separate Operation in Cainta Yields Additional Arrests
In another operation conducted at 1:30 a.m. on July 16 in Barangay San Isidro, Cainta town police arrested three suspects named “Ejay,” “Darry,” and “David.” All three are considered street-level pushers.
The police confiscated seven sachets of shabu worth P20,400. David was also found in possession of an unlicensed .38-caliber revolver loaded with three bullets.
Legal Actions and Police Custody
All six suspects remain in police custody and face charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Additionally, John Marc and David will be charged for illegal possession of firearms.
