Major Drug Seizures in Cavite and Quezon Provinces
Two suspected drug traffickers were caught in Cavite and Quezon provinces during separate anti-drug operations, sources said. The combined value of the seized suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) exceeded P486,000. These arrests highlight ongoing efforts to dismantle illegal drug networks in the region.
Authorities conducted the operations on Monday and Tuesday, targeting known drug suspects. The 4-word keyphrase “P486,000 worth shabu” was central to these investigations, as officials recovered significant quantities of the illegal substance.
Dasmariñas City Bust Nets High-Value Individual
In Dasmariñas City, Cavite, anti-narcotics officers arrested a suspect known only as “Marvin” at around 1:10 a.m. Tuesday, local leaders noted. Marvin was caught selling P5,000 worth of shabu to an undercover agent in Barangay San Andres 1.
Police seized five plastic sachets containing approximately 65 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P442,000 according to Dangerous Drugs Board estimates. Marvin is classified as a high-value individual (HVI), a designation reserved for known traffickers or key figures in organized drug groups.
Lucena City Operation Targets Street-Level Dealer
Meanwhile, in Lucena City, Quezon, another suspect named “Betong” was arrested during a buy-bust operation at 3:54 p.m. Monday in Barangay 10. The city’s drug enforcement unit, led by Captain Benito Nevera, spearheaded the raid.
Betong, regarded as a street-level pusher, surrendered three sachets of suspected meth valued at P44,200. Authorities revealed he has two prior cases related to illegal drugs and firearms, though further details remain undisclosed.
Both suspects remain in police custody and face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Their arrests mark a significant blow to drug activities in their respective areas.
