GENERAL SANTOS CITY — With just days left before the critical May 12 midterm elections, Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan made a powerful appeal to his supporters on Saturday. He urged everyone to double their efforts and convince more voters to choose him and fellow former senator Bam Aquino for the Senate.
“The final week is make-or-break. We must keep pushing Kiko-Bam hard,” Pangilinan declared. He stressed the importance of every single vote and called on volunteers to keep going house-to-house and market-to-market until May 10.
“Talk to your friends, classmates, co-workers, neighbors. Personal conversations matter more than social media,” he said, emphasizing the impact of face-to-face discussions over online posts.
Recent OCTA Research surveys show Pangilinan and Aquino neck and neck in the 10-18 ranking range. Aquino holds 32.3% voter preference; Pangilinan close behind at 30.3%.
Pangilinan left no doubt about what’s at stake. “This election isn’t just another vote. It’s about the country’s future and the path we want to take. You hold the power to decide who doesn’t belong in office.”
He highlighted their strong youth support: “Among young voters, we always lead. Bam and I are their first choice. If only the youth voted, victory would be certain—but many still need convincing.”
Adding a cautionary note, Pangilinan’s wife, actress Sharon Cuneta, urged voters to think carefully. “Be smart. Don’t just vote because someone is handsome or popular. Choose those truly deserving. Do your research.”
In his Mindanao campaign swing, Pangilinan also secured backing from the United Bangsamoro Justice Party, linked to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, during visits to Marawi City and Sultan Kudarat.
As the final stretch of campaigning unfolds, the message is clear: every conversation, every vote counts. The battle for the nation’s future is on.
