Heart Attack Claims Suspect in Parañaque Drug Sting
Authorities conducting a buy-bust operation seized P6.8 million worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) in Parañaque City, officials reported. The Parañaque drug sting unfolded late Tuesday night at a local hotel, resulting in the arrest of two suspects and the death of another due to a heart attack.
During the operation, law enforcers confronted several individuals suspected of illegal drug activity. “Unfortunately, during the arrest, one of the suspects resisted and stabbed one of the operatives, which prompted the operatives to grapple the knife from him and subdue him,” sources said.
Suspect’s Sudden Collapse Amid Arrest
In the midst of the struggle, the suspect reportedly experienced difficulty breathing and quickly lost consciousness. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency care but ultimately succumbed to a heart attack, community members said. The deceased was identified as Stephen, a 49-year-old resident of Makati City.
Confiscation of Suspected Shabu and Arrests
The Parañaque drug sting operation also led to the confiscation of at least one kilogram of suspected shabu. Two suspects were taken into custody: Mikhaela, a 24-year-old from Quezon City, and Mohamad, a 32-year-old German-Syrian national residing in Makati, officials noted.
Both individuals remain detained at the PDEA 4A Custodial Facility in Santa Rosa City, Laguna. They face charges under Republic Act 9165, commonly known as the Dangerous Drugs Act, pending further investigation, local authorities reported.
