Parañaque Prepares for Santa Cruzan Road Closures
The Parañaque City government will enforce temporary road closures on May 24 to facilitate the Santa Cruzan and related community events. These measures aim to ensure the safety and smooth flow of festivities amid the expected local turnout.
On Sunday, May 24, Tramo Street at the intersection of Kabihasnan and Pelaez Streets will be closed to traffic starting at 7 a.m. until 8 a.m. This initial closure accommodates a Holy Mass event. The road will then reopen briefly before closing again for further activities.
Schedule of Activities and Road Access
Following the morning mass, the area will host a Palarong Bayan from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., where residents can participate in traditional games. After this, roads will reopen between 12 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to allow traffic movement.
The streets will close again from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. to accommodate the Sagala or Santacruzan procession, a prominent cultural event that highlights the day’s celebrations. Subsequently, a talent show and raffle will take place, lasting until 10 p.m., engaging the community in evening entertainment.
Guidance for Motorists
Motorists are strongly advised to avoid the affected areas during these hours and seek alternative routes to prevent delays. The road closures will remain in effect until midnight on Sunday, May 25. Community leaders said these precautions are necessary to maintain order and safety throughout the event.
The local government asks for the public’s understanding and cooperation as they celebrate this important cultural tradition with the necessary health and safety protocols in place.
