President Marcos Calls on Parents to Maximize College Education Support
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. urged Filipino parents to fully utilize government programs designed to help their children pursue higher education. During his fourth State of the Nation Address, he highlighted the remarkable rise in college enrollment among Filipino youth, crediting these initiatives for the progress.
“The number of our youth entering college or Tesda [Technical Education and Skills Development Authority] programs is now very high. The Philippines now ranks second in all of Asia in terms of youth enrollment in college and tech-voc. More are also graduating,” Marcos said in Filipino.
Encouraging Families to Support Education Completion
Recognizing the positive trend, the President stressed the crucial role of parents in ensuring their children finish their studies. He expressed hope that soon every Filipino family will have at least one graduate from college or a TESDA program.
“So to all parents, make the most of this opportunity, because we hope that very soon, every Filipino family will have a child who has graduated from college or from a Tesda program,” he added.
These remarks reflect the government’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to education and empowering the youth through technical and vocational training. Local leaders noted that such encouragement from the highest office helps motivate families to prioritize education.
