Parish Pastoral Council Calls for More Volunteers

The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) is intensifying its efforts just two days after the 2025 Philippine elections. The group urgently calls for more volunteers to support its ongoing operations as it processes election returns.

So far, the PPCRV has received around 11,800 election returns, representing about 12.71% of the total returns nationwide. This surge in data means the council is preparing to ramp up its activities significantly.

Importance of Election Returns Audit

“We will be ramping up soon kasi madami nang ERs na dumadating,” said Ana Singson, the PPCRV spokesperson. She emphasized that auditing these election returns is crucial to verify the integrity of the transmitted votes.

Once all data from the Commission on Elections is processed, the PPCRV expects to cover 97.38% of the transmitted votes. This comprehensive audit ensures the transparency and accuracy of election results.

Parish Pastoral Council Needs Volunteers

Singson hopes to match the volunteer numbers from the 2022 elections, where over 400,000 volunteers worked tirelessly both in the field and in command centers. Those interested in joining can register through the PPCRV’s official link.

Volunteer Efforts Highlighted

The council also expressed deep gratitude to its volunteers who faced numerous challenges during this election cycle. Many traveled long hours under difficult conditions to deliver election returns safely.

Challenging Journeys of Volunteers

Volunteers from San Pablo, Laguna, and Malolos, Bulacan endured heavy rains and traveled two to three hours to hand-deliver election returns. In Maguindanao, others navigated rocky terrains, crossed rivers, and sometimes even rode horses to reach remote polling stations.

“From their residences, they will forge streams, sometimes riding a horse, and then there are some areas in rocky terrain that volunteers have to walk,” Singson shared. “Very heroic po yung ginagawa nila. To get those ERs here, they have to cross those paths to get here.”

These heroic efforts demonstrate the dedication of volunteers who serve without expectation, driven purely by commitment to the democratic process.
