Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto to Advance Good Governance

Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto to Advance His Good Governance Agenda

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto declared on Tuesday that he will continue to advance his good governance agenda as he begins his third and final term as the city’s chief executive. After securing 286,289 votes in the May 12 midterm elections, Sotto is set to officially win the race. His closest rival, Sara Discaya, received just 24,151 votes.

When asked about his plans after completing his third term in 2028, Sotto said he is fully focused on serving Pasig and carrying out his current responsibilities. He emphasized the importance of long-lasting reforms, saying, “Kailangan pang matagalan yung reporma dahil walang forever sa pulitika, sa buhay walang forever.”

Long-Term Reforms and Focus on Good Governance

Sotto envisions a local government where it becomes easier to do what is right and harder to engage in corruption.

He also highlighted that while programs, projects, and services will continue to improve as they have over the last six years, the priority remains establishing a strong foundation of integrity and efficiency. “Pero first things first, at yan ang magiging focus natin, hindi yung kung anong susunod na posisyon kaagad isipin, hindi po, trabaho tayo,” he added.

Commitment to Serve Until 2028

Since first winning as mayor in 2019, Sotto has steadily built a reputation for transparent leadership and reform. As he embarks on his third term, his commitment to advance his good governance agenda remains unwavering. Instead of looking ahead to future political positions, Sotto chooses to concentrate on improving Pasig’s governance and public service delivery.

His vision for the city centers on creating an environment where ethical behavior is the norm, and corruption is minimized. This focus aims to make it simpler for government employees and officials to act rightly and serve the community effectively.
