PDEA and PNP seize P197 million drugs in Parañaque buy-bust
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), together with the Philippine National Police (PNP), conducted a successful drug buy-bust operation in Parañaque City last Saturday. The operation resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs worth P197.2 million and the arrest of two suspects.
The buy-bust took place around 5 p.m. inside an exclusive subdivision. Authorities said the suspects used the subdivision’s strict security measures to evade surveillance and intelligence efforts by law enforcement.
During the operation, police confiscated 29 aluminum packets weighing approximately 29 kilograms. The packets were marked with Chinese characters translating to “Freeze-dried Durian.” Inside, they found white crystalline substances suspected to be shabu.
Seized items and charges filed
Along with the shabu, authorities also recovered mobile phones, buy-bust money, and a pink paper bag used during the transaction. The estimated street value of the drugs is around P197,200,000.
The arrested individuals will face charges under Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. This law imposes strict penalties on drug-related offenses.
This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of PDEA and PNP to curb illegal drug activities, especially those attempting to exploit secure residential areas.
