PDEA Region 3 Drugs Bust Nets P102,000 Shabu in Pampanga
MABALACAT CITY — Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 3 (PDEA-3) agents successfully conducted a buy-bust operation on Sunday afternoon, July 6, resulting in three arrests and the seizure of shabu worth around P102,000 in Lubao, Pampanga.
The operation also led to the dismantling of a makeshift drug den where the suspects were apprehended. This PDEA Region 3 drugs bust was carried out at approximately 3 p.m. in San Antonio village, Lubao town, according to sources.
The suspects were identified by their aliases as Dante, 41; Tonton, 31; and Jepoy, 38. Authorities confiscated four plastic sachets containing a total of 15 grams of shabu from the group. Officials revealed that these individuals had been under surveillance since May this year.
Pending Charges and Ongoing Investigations
Authorities confirmed that charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the three suspects. This operation reflects ongoing efforts by PDEA Region 3 to curb drug activities in the region.
Additional Drug Interception at Port of Clark
In a related update, PDEA-3 also reported intercepting high-grade marijuana, locally referred to as “kush,” worth around P700,000 at the Port of Clark in Pampanga on July 3.
Officials said that about half a kilo of kush originated from Michigan, USA, and was hidden inside a small carton box falsely declared as “Sasttie Reading Pillows for Sitting in Bed Adult.” The package arrived at the port on June 30 and was discovered during routine customs inspections and X-ray scans.
Interestingly, the illegal drugs were not concealed, which allowed Bureau of Customs examiners to detect the shipment promptly. These seizures emphasize the vigilance of authorities in preventing the entry and distribution of illegal substances in the region.
Strengthened Surveillance and Enforcement Efforts
Local officials noted the importance of sustained surveillance and intelligence gathering to successfully disrupt drug networks. The PDEA Region 3 drugs bust and recent interceptions demonstrate a continued commitment to enforcing the law and safeguarding communities from the dangers of illegal drugs.
