Illegal Drugs Seized Totaling P219 Million in One Week
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) announced the seizure of illegal drugs worth a total of P219 million from June 20 to 27. This significant haul reflects ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking and abuse nationwide.
During operations conducted within this period, authorities confiscated 28.1 kilograms of shabu (crystal meth), 833.6 grams of cocaine, 7.01 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves, and 37,750 fully grown marijuana plants. These seizures underscore the agency’s commitment to dismantling drug networks.
Arrests and Operations Details
Alongside the confiscated illegal drugs, PDEA also apprehended 51 individuals. Among those arrested were 44 alleged drug pushers and one operator of a drug den. These arrests were made during 39 buy-bust operations and three recovery missions, demonstrating the agency’s proactive stance against illegal substances.
Local authorities noted that these results were part of intensified efforts to combat the drug menace affecting communities. “This is a clear message that illegal drugs will not be tolerated,” a PDEA spokesperson said.
Context of Ongoing Drug Enforcement
Earlier reports showed that PDEA seized P6.9 billion worth of illegal drugs in the first quarter of 2025 alone, indicating sustained pressure on drug syndicates. These recent operations continue that trend, aiming to reduce the supply of dangerous substances in the country.
Efforts are ongoing to ensure that those involved in the drug trade face legal consequences, while communities benefit from improved safety and security. The agency remains vigilant in tracking and dismantling drug operations nationwide.
