Persons of Interest Identified in Shooting Incident
Authorities have identified some persons of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of a Korean national in the Korean Town area of Angeles City, Pampanga, which occurred in April. The identification came after a thorough review of CCTV footage and other evidence.
During a recent briefing, the local police chief explained that among the many cameras reviewed, one key shot showed the suspect raising their helmet. “Sa dami po ng CCTV na atin pong tiningnan, meron po tayong isang shot na nakuha doon na kung saan nakita po na nakataas ang kaniyang helmet. Pinadala po natin ito sa [Anti-Cybercrime Group] at na-upgrade po ito. Hanggang nagkaroon na po ito ng identification,” he stated.
This footage was sent to the Anti-Cybercrime Group for enhancement, which ultimately led to the suspect’s identification. The police now have solid evidence against these persons of interest.
Details of the Korean Town Shooting Case
The victim was shot near a bank along Friendship Highway around 1:50 p.m. on April 20. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the Korean national was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Initially, authorities treated the case as a robbery.
To assist the investigation, the Korean Association Community of Angeles City has offered a reward of P200,000 for any information that will help identify and capture the perpetrator. The public is urged to report any relevant tips immediately to the Angeles City Police.

Angeles City’s mayor expressed deep concern over this violent incident. He has instructed the police force to exhaust all efforts to identify and arrest the person responsible. “We will not allow this brutal act to go unresolved. Angeles City must remain a safe place for both locals and foreigners,” he emphasized.
