A recent Philippine nurses licensure examination produced impressive results, with a graduate from Southern Luzon State University in Lucban achieving the highest score. This exam, held nationwide, tested thousands of aspiring nurses seeking professional licensure.
The Professional Regulation Commission reported that out of 10,770 examinees, 6,935 successfully passed the exam. The Board of Nursing conducted the test across 18 centers throughout the country on May 5 and 6.
However, one examinee’s results were withheld pending further review of possible liabilities under licensure rules.

Among schools with 100 or more test takers, University of Pangasinan stood out with a remarkable passing rate, as 354 out of 357 examinees succeeded. Meanwhile, schools with 50 to 99 examinees such as Southern Luzon State University-Lucban, Eastern Samar State University-Borongan, and Universidad de Zamboanga-Pagadian (for Mendero College) all achieved a 100% passing rate, demonstrating strong nursing programs.
