Beware of Fake Job Offers Using Philippine Statistics Authority Name
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has issued a warning to the public about individuals falsely using the agency’s name on social media to offer jobs. The PSA urges everyone to exercise caution and verify job postings to avoid scams.
Recently, a fraudulent post recruiting women aged 25 to 55 for “online part-time work” surfaced on Facebook. The post, which misleadingly uses the PSA’s name, promises easy work from home with flexible hours, no interview, no experience needed, and simple mobile tasks. However, the PSA confirmed that this job offer is fake.
Official Job Vacancies Only on PSA Website and Pages
The PSA clarified that all legitimate job openings are exclusively posted on their official careers portal at www.psa.gov.ph/career and on verified Facebook pages of their central and regional offices. They stressed that any other job offer claiming affiliation with the PSA should be treated with suspicion.
“The PSA reminds the public to be wary of individuals or groups claiming to be from the PSA and offering jobs,” the agency emphasized in their advisory. They also reiterated that applying for jobs through PSA is free of charge, following Civil Service Commission guidelines.
How to Protect Yourself from Job Scams
To protect yourself, the PSA advised everyone to critically evaluate job offers and report any suspicious activities to their official email. This vigilance helps prevent others from falling victim to scams that misuse the agency’s trusted name for deceitful purposes.
In summary, the Philippine Statistics Authority urges the public to stay alert against fake job offers and verify all opportunities through official channels only.
