PMA Women Graduates Mark a Milestone
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. celebrated the achievements of the women graduates from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Siklab Laya” Class of 2025. Among the 266 new officers, 54 are women, highlighting a significant step forward for gender representation in the military.
“Ang mga kababaihang kadete ng PMA ang patunay na ang tapang, talino, at galing ay hindi nakaaayon sa kasarian,” the President said, emphasizing that courage, intelligence, and skill know no gender boundaries.
Deployment Across Armed Forces
The graduates will be assigned to various branches of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Specifically, 137 will join the Philippine Army, 71 will serve in the Philippine Navy, and 58 will enter the Philippine Air Force. This diverse deployment reflects the broad opportunities now available for all cadets.
Modern Warfare Demands More
President Marcos also reminded the new officers that modern warfare requires not just physical strength but mental sharpness and compassion. He highlighted, “warfare today goes beyond land, seas, and skies… we have battles that are invisible to radar—ones that take place in cyberspace.” This statement underscores the evolving nature of military challenges and the importance of adaptability.
Inspiring Future Generations
He encouraged the women graduates to become role models for young girls across the country. “Nawa’y magsilbi kayong inspirasyon sa bawat batang babae nangangarap na magkaroon ng mahalagang papel sa ating bansa,” he said, hoping their success will inspire others to pursue important roles in nation-building.
These PMA women graduates embody the spirit of determination and excellence, proving that the Armed Forces is increasingly inclusive and ready for the demands of modern defense.
