PNP Announces Four Ranking Police Officials Reorganization
MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has announced a significant reshuffle involving four ranking police officials. This latest reorganization aims to strengthen leadership across key police units and regional offices.
In an official order dated August 6 and released publicly on Thursday, PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III confirmed the appointments. The four ranking police officials will take on new roles to enhance operational effectiveness and regional coordination.
New Assignments in Key Police Units
Brig. Gen. Jovencio Badua Jr. was appointed as the new director of the Maritime Group. He replaces Brig. Gen. Christopher Abecia, who will now lead the Police Regional Office (PRO) 1 in Ilocos. These changes reflect a strategic realignment of experienced officers to critical areas.
Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy, previously heading the Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP), will assume the position of regional director for PRO 8 in Eastern Visayas. Brig. Gen. Jay Cumigad will take over as director of AVSEGROUP, effectively swapping roles with Capoy.
Reshuffle Effective Immediately
The reorganization took effect on August 6, signaling a swift implementation of these leadership changes. Sources noted that this move aims to bolster security operations in both maritime and aviation sectors, as well as enhance regional police management.
