PNP tukoy ang mga ‘masterminds’ sa Anson Que kidnap-slay

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has zeroed in on key suspects behind the brutal killing of businessman Anson Que and his driver. Among those tagged as alleged masterminds are David Tan Liao, Kelly Tan Lim, and an unidentified individual still at large.

In a recent ambush interview, PNP Chief Police General Rommel Marbil revealed their latest findings. “Natumbok po natin yung mastermind, si David Tan Liao, yung kasama po niya yung si Kelly na hinahanap po natin with P5 million bounty,” he disclosed. The police are actively searching for Kelly, who carries a hefty P5 million reward.

Marbil added, “Meron pa po kaming hinahanap, hindi lang po namin nilalagay,” hinting at more figures behind the crime yet to be named. He described Kelly as an accomplice currently being hunted down with others tied to a larger syndicate.

When questioned about other possible masterminds with bigger roles, Marbil confirmed the suspects are linked to a larger syndicate. “You have to remove yung kanilang web o yung kanilang sindikato po dito. Part lang po ng sindikato itong dalawang na ito,” he explained.

The police remain tight-lipped on additional names as the manhunt continues, refusing to disclose identities that could compromise their ongoing pursuit.

The horror unfolded on April 10 when the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) confirmed the discovery of the bodies of Anson Que and his driver, found stuffed inside nylon bags on a roadside in Rodriguez, Rizal.

So far, five suspects have surfaced in connection with this gruesome crime. Those under detention include David Tan Liao, Richardo Austria, and Reymart Catequista. Meanwhile, others still on the run are Jonin Lin and Wenli Gong—better known as Kelly Tan Lim—and associates Bao Wenli, Axin, and Huang Yanling.

Authorities say Kelly played a sinister role in luring Que to a Bulacan apartment where the victim and his driver were held captive. Kelly reportedly maintained contact with Que’s family to negotiate a ransom.

The PNP has put a P5 million bounty on Kelly’s head to expedite his capture. They have also interrogated two Chinese nationals in Boracay to explore possible links to Kelly.

Shocking details emerged about a massive ransom of P200 million, allegedly paid in installments through casino junket operators. The payout passed through multiple hands before being converted into cryptocurrency. Two of those involved in handling the ransom are already behind bars.

Now, the PNP is digging deeper to hold not only the kidnappers but also casino and junket operators accountable. The investigation continues, promising more revelations in this dark saga.
