Police Arrest Teen for Smartphone Snatching Incident in Quezon City
Authorities swiftly apprehended a 14-year-old boy for allegedly snatching a smartphone from a jeepney passenger in Quezon City. The incident took place near the corner of Aurora Boulevard and E. Rodriguez Avenue in Barangay Immaculate Concepcion.
According to local officials, police chased the minor after the theft was reported. During the pursuit, the teenager dropped the stolen smartphone. Fortunately, the owner recovered the device and decided not to file charges.
Teenager Released to Family After Incident
The boy, identified only as a resident of Barangay Doña Imelda, was handed over to Barangay Immaculate Concepcion authorities. He was later released to his mother’s custody, following proper procedures.
Local leaders emphasized that the case is being handled according to the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act (Republic Act 9344), ensuring the minor’s rights and welfare are prioritized.
