Police Mobilize 1,088 Personnel for School Opening Security
BUTUAN CITY – As the school opening in Northern Mindanao approaches on June 16, the Police Regional Office-10 is mobilizing 1,088 policemen to ensure a safe environment. This strong security presence aims to protect students, parents, and school staff during the critical period.
“Safety of the students, parents, and school personnel are among our priorities during the opening and school period in the different schools in the region,” said Police Major Joann G. Navarro, chief of PRO 10’s Regional Public Information Office. The police force’s visible presence seeks to reassure the community and deter any potential threats.
Comprehensive Security Measures Across Key Areas
PRO-10 Director Police Brigadier General Jaysen C. de Guzman has ordered all provincial and city police offices to deploy maximum personnel in strategic locations. These include schools, transport terminals, airports, seaports, malls, business centers, and other crowded places.
“Our priority is to provide a safe and secure environment for our students as they return to school,” De Guzman emphasized. He added that the deployment is not just for visibility but also to enable quick responses to any untoward incidents. The director further called on the community to cooperate in maintaining peace and order during the school opening.
“I am urging the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station,” he said. “With your help, we can ensure that our children are safe as they pursue their education.”
Peaceful Summer Vacation Sets Positive Tone for School Year
Meanwhile, PRO-10 reported that the recent summer vacation in the region was generally peaceful. No major incidents disrupted peace and order, setting a positive tone for the upcoming school year. Local officials and law enforcement continue to collaborate to maintain this calm environment.
As the start of classes draws near, the combined efforts of police forces and community members aim to create a secure setting where students can focus on learning without fear.
