Police Hunt Two Gunmen in Maguindanao Norte Family Killing
Authorities are actively pursuing two gunmen involved in the brutal ambush that claimed the lives of a family of three in Maguindanao Norte. The tragic incident occurred in the village of Nalinan on the afternoon of Monday, September 1, 2025.
Victims Identified in Family Killing
Local officials reported that the victims were Ibrahim Payapat, his wife Zenaida Kusain, 32, and their 16-year-old daughter Aisa. The family hailed from Barangay Rosary Heights 10 in Cotabato City. An 11-year-old son survived the attack but sustained injuries.
Details of the Attack
According to police reports from the Sultan Kudarat municipal police station, the family was traveling home on a tricycle when two men riding a motorcycle suddenly opened fire at approximately 3 p.m. The father was killed instantly at the scene.
Responding villagers quickly transported Zenaida and Aisa to Cotabato Sanitarium hospital in Sultan Kudarat town. Unfortunately, both succumbed to their wounds approximately one hour later.
