Police Officers Arrested Over Pampanga Print Shop Robbery
Two police officers were arrested in connection with the robbery of a print shop in Pampanga, sources said. The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO 3) confirmed the arrest after recovering the vehicle used in the crime, along with a document that allegedly links the officers to the getaway car.
The incident happened on Wednesday night in Barangay Tabun, Mabalacat City. Five unidentified armed men wearing black jackets, bonnets, and face masks entered the print shop. The victims, both local residents, were tied up with cable straps while their CCTV system was dismantled. The suspects accused them of illegal drug involvement before fleeing the scene.
Getaway Vehicle Found in Nearby Town
The robbers escaped with nine high-end smartphones loaded inside a black Toyota Vios without a license plate. Police later found the vehicle on July 17 in Barangay San Vicente, Bamban, Tarlac.
PRO 3 noted that the two arrested officers belonged to the Pampanga Police Provincial Office Drug Enforcement Unit. Their ranks have not been disclosed.
Legal Actions and Ongoing Investigations
The officers now face charges of robbery with intimidation and attempted kidnapping before the Mabalacat City Prosecutor’s Office. Additionally, PRO 3 director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. revealed that the regional police are investigating whether administrative cases can be filed against the two officers and their immediate supervisor.
“We are committed to ensuring accountability and transparency,” a local official said. “We will follow due process and uphold justice in this case.”
This case highlights concerns about misconduct within law enforcement units and the need for stringent oversight.
