Police Regional Office-6 Distributes ICT Equipment
ILOILO CITY — The Police Regional Office-6 has rolled out P21 million worth of information and communications technology (ICT) equipment along with a new vehicle to police units across the Western Visayas region. This distribution aims to enhance operational capabilities and support the region’s law enforcement efforts.
Police Col. Roland Bulalacao, Deputy Regional Director for Operations, led the handover on June 9 at Camp Delgado, the PRO-6 headquarters in Iloilo City. He represented Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky during the ceremony. The equipment and vehicle were funded by the national police headquarters based in Quezon City, sources said.
New Patrol Vehicle Boosts Local Policing
The newly allocated patrol vehicle was handed over to the Leganes Municipal Police Station under the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO). The vehicle’s key was officially received by Leganes Mayor JunJun Jaen and Municipal Police Chief Police Capt. Enrique Robles. This addition is set to improve police mobility and response times in the municipality.
ICT Equipment Distributed Across Provinces
Meanwhile, multiple police offices received various ICT tools to support their daily operations. The Aklan, Antique, and Capiz Provincial Police Offices, together with the Bacolod City Police Office, each received 23 desktop computers and a tablet. Meanwhile, Iloilo and Negros Occidental Provincial Police Offices were allocated 55 desktop computers and one tablet each.
The Iloilo City Police Office also received 15 desktop computers and a tablet to upgrade its systems. Additionally, the Guimaras Provincial Police Office was given eight desktop computer sets along with one tablet. These resources are expected to enhance communication, data management, and overall efficiency, local leaders noted.
